— Technology

The ASIC pathway:
A validated, non-opioid approach to pain

Acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs) are activated when tissue becomes acidic, a hallmark of inflammation, injury, ischemia, and surgery. As key mediators of pain signaling, they represent one of the most extensively validated non-opioid targets in animal and human studies, with human evidence supported by snake venom peptides and clinical studies of a non bioavailable ASIC compound.
